Announcing our Not-For-Profit Scholarship Winners

A big congratulations is in order for the following women and organisations, recipients of the sphinxx not-for-profit scholarship (worth $895).

In Sydney, Courtney Smith is the Parramatta project manager for Fitted for Work
Fitted for Work is a service committed to helping long term unemployed and disadvantaged women obtain work, maintain employment and ultimately achieve financial independence through business clothing, presentation and interview skills and building self confidence and assisting women. I’ve been a big supporter of their work.

In Brisbane we welcome Bernadette Vella, Founder and President of Mummy’s Wish. Mummy’s wish is an organisation created to support mums diagnosed with cancer when they’re pregnant or have young children. It’s a heartwrenching cause and the work Mummy’s wish does to support these women and their families to cope with the challenges of treatment must be such a relief.

Also from Sydney, Belinda Duckworth is the National Communications Officer for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
The National Breast Cancer Foundation fundraises money for research into the prevention and cure of breast cancer, and have funded $67 million into 256 research programs since 1994. I’m sure you’re all familiar and proud of their pink ribbon and tireless energy campaigning for awareness and funds.

Also from Brisbane, Katherine Kelly is the Manager of Community Education Programs for Mission Australia. Mission Australia is one of the leading domestic charities, supporting a huge range and amount of disadvantaged Australians. They run a range of incredible projects including community, employment and housing projects. I am very excited to support an organisation that supports so many Australians.

Having met these women, I am excited about staying in touch throughout the year, and hearing firsthand about the new initiatives and updates from each great cause.
