How’s this for lucky – win a La Chance limited edition Lucky Bracelet worth $495 PLUS special offer for sphinxx subscribers

Ladies do I have exciting news for you… Have you heard of the gorgeous La Chance bracelet range?  Whether you have, or not, you’re in for a treat!  Because I’m delighted to welcome La Chance – the Danish designed bracelet range inspired by the ancient eastern zodiac – on board as our newest Ascend event sponsor.

You might have heard of La Chance – loads of celebs are wearing their lucky bracelets – and since I first began discussions with Hans at La Chance about them coming on board as a sponsor, I’ve had a sneaking suspicion that my luck has been improving too… That’s nothing though compared to the experience of jockey Corey Brown who recently started wearing a La Chance bracelet. After a terrible run on the race track, he started wearing his La Chance bracelet as part of his lead in to the Spring Racing Carnival and Melbourne Cup… and since he began wearing his lucky bracelet, his losing streak appears to have turned around and he’s ridden some major winners over the past 3 weeks.

In this interview with The Daily Telegraph and later on Sydney radio he said “I can’t take it away from the horses and the trainers and I am not usually a superstitious person, but can’t explain it any other way that since I have been wearing the bracelet, I am winning. I am not taking it off now”, he said.  He also just called us a couple of days ago to say that another jockey who had seen the story went into one of our stockists and purchased a bracelet for himself because he had had a terrible run lately and has now ridden 3 winners in a row – seriously!

So I’m currently trialing the Amethyst fortune bracelet (see the photo) and I’ll be reporting in to you on how my luck is going in the lead up to Ascend.  According to Greek mythology amethyst is also supposed to prevent intoxication… we’ll have to see how that goes after a weekend of wine tasting in Mudgee left me with a bootload of wine… let’s just say the timing couldn’t be better!

But the good news for YOU is that I also have a Limited Edition Lucky Bracelet which will go to one lucky Ascend participant this quarter – valued at $495 and all for the lucky winner! Made with the 12 animals of the Eastern Zodiac, and set with Swarovski Crystals in white gold wheels, you’ll be lucky for sure if you win this one.  All our NovemberAscend participants will automatically be in the draw – and with space limited to just 320 participants across the 4 cities – that’s pretty good odds!  So register now to secure your spot at Ascend (at the earlybird rate) and be in the running to your very own lucky charm bracelet.

And in the meantime… La Chance has generously offered all sphinxx readers a 20% discount when shopping online at www.lachance.com.au – simply enter the code SPHINXX when you check out and the discount will automatically be applied to your purchase.

Stay tuned for my good luck updates… I’m off now to buy my lotto ticket!

What are the lessons you’re teaching your kids? We took the opportunity of a holiday long weekend to visit my mum interstate as the timing of the trip coincided with my son’s favourite AFL team battling it out against my mum’s beloved team. Perhaps only those of you with the love for AFL will appreciate why we’d plan a long distance trip around a game of footy, but suffice to say it was a passion project! With every ounce of anticipation, the game was a tough, tight duel and could easily have gone either way. Yet when the final siren sounded, it wasn’t our team that was smiling. It sure is tough for a 10 year old boy to sit within a crowd 41,000+ people all cheering for the opposite side. It was tough for him to see the exhaustion and disappointment on the faces of the players he adores. And yet, it’s so important for him to learn that his team won’t always win. There’s so many lessons in that, but the one I chose to instil is that you won’t always back the team that wins but you’ll always back the team that you love. That’s why I asked him to wear his team colours home the next day, and show his support even when the chips are down. That’s the kind of commitment I want my son to learn and the kind of team player I want him to be. PS. #gotheGiants @GWSGiants #neversurrender ... See MoreSee Less

I haven’t been here in a while as the writing has been on hold. But I was reminded today that there are things in our life that light us up. That might take us out of our comfort zone but, once you sit with it, bring you both joy and a sense of “I can do this” achievement. These moments are such a gift. So I’m curious, what’s your special thing that lights you up?

Despite (or in spit of) my professional career, these moments for me normally involve my horses. I’ll never be an equestrian Olympian, but I take great pleasure in all the lessons my horses teach me. They remind me that it’s a team effort, we’re in it together, and that if I’m prepared to give a little bit more, they will too. That’s true whether we’re on the ground taking care of their feet, or grooming, or when I’m atop riding as one. Two hearts one team.
It’s hard to describe the adrenaline and joy they bring to my life. But I’d love to know, what lights you up??

And so, maybe time does change some things. Or women do.
