In a reminder that even the most gender balanced companies are not immune from allegations of of misguided executive actions,Sally Berkeley, the former head of the Pacific Brands’ bra division, Berlei, and the company’s underwear division, is suing the company saying that she was bullied by a colleague and that her redundancy was a sham.

Pacific Brands – one of the few Australian companies with a gender balanced board – has vehemently denied any wrongdoing saying Ms Berkeley was sacked for reasons unrelated to her claim.  Regardless, at least an element of reputational damage has already been done and it will be interesting to see this case play out in the courts.
