At risk of losing your employer funded paid parental leave? A simple solution for employees AND employers

The Federal budget released last night introduces changes to Paid Parental Leave to prevent “double dipping” of employees with access to both employer and government funded PPL. But all is not lost, this is how employers AND employees can continue to access both: Get creative. As Shakespeare said, “A rose by any other name would […]

New book busts myths about women in business, and introducing (drumroll please!…….) our very first Friday freebie giveaway!

Wallowing this week in the colds and flu that descended on our little household, it’s been hard to stop thinking about Sheryl Sandberg and her family. The tragic and sudden death of Sheryl’s husband, Dave, last weekend, is unbelievable. I had the privilege and great joy to spend a morning with Sheryl at BlogHer a […]

The Lucky Country becoming the Land of Whingers, as complaints roll in about ANZAC Day services

This makes my blood boil. In my local paper this week was a page full of complaints from participants at our local dawn service last Saturday. I read similar reports on a number of regional papers I follow on line. What is going on in this country????? Surely we’re better than this? So there weren’t […]

Business men step up to face off flexibility in new tell-all doco series

I wanted to write this post last night but it was a designated no-work zone blocked out in my calendar for family time. Perhaps that’s a side to flexible work that five businessmen are about to familiarize themselves with as they undertake The Equilibrium Man Challenge. The program is an initiate of the Workplace Gender […]

This is so up my alley. "In order to liberate women, we need to liberate men." (Anne Hathaway - UN Women Goodwill Ambassador). Check this out, I'm in awe. My friend Ronni Kahn is at it again, disrupting the food supply chain, offering food security to the vulnerable. I've shared before about OzHarvest. When I first met Ronni ten years ago I knew she was special, but what she has achieved and continues to achieve truly blows my mind. She cares so much about the people that OzHarvest serves, and every person in her life, and gives her everything to make sure that no person needs to go hungry. The international expansion of OzHarvest is awesome, and this "take what you need" supermarket in Sydney is just brilliance. Repurposing and rehoming surplus food, keeping it out of landfill so that we all benefit and business overheads are lowered. Win. Win. Win. Love it! ... See MoreSee Less
