A gentle message on life, leadership and one wonderful woman

Yesterday as I was driving across town from one appointment to another, busy as a bee, the Inner Circle came across the airwaves of my car radio. For a few short minutes I was transfixed by the quietly spoken message of Rev. Graham Long, Pastor and CEO of The Wayside Chapel in Sydney’s Kings Cross. […]

Can confidence be learned just like any other skill, and do you need to?

Would you describe yourself as a confident person? Is confidence something you think about in relation to your career? Or have you ever been encouraged to be just that bit more confident? One of the most frequent pieces of “advice” I’ve seen dished out to businesswomen is to be more confident.   I’m not sure if […]

Five things EVERY woman should share with that special man in her life…

The SheEO Blog is not all about domestic violence. But it is an issue that affects all of us and I realized after my last post that tomorrow is the annual White Ribbon Night. So I thought I would revisit this issue with a new lens: the one that is firmly from the viewpoint of […]

The critical role of empathy in life, leadership, business and our community

For several reasons, I do my best to keep away from the news. Over the past week that’s been pretty difficult and no doubt you’ve experienced your own personal response to the MH17 disaster. We tend to hope these events are once in a lifetime; still that doesn’t make it any less distressing. My unhinging […]

INVITATION: Wow. WOW! Come spend this Sunday night in Sydney with me and Will.I.Am and Champagne GH Mumm!

OK it doesn’t get much better than this: Will.I.Am choosing the tunes on the jukebox, a Sydney Harbour backdrop, catching up over a glass or two or three of Champagne GH Mumm. So what do you think, care to join me?  I have a double pass to get along and I’m looking for someone to […]

The wisdom in working together – the chimps, the champions and the women pioneers

If you asked me, as a child, what I wanted to be as a “grown up” I probably would have said a teacher or a librarian. It made sense, I’d usually be found with my head buried in a book, and I loved my time at school. But had I known about the work of […]

This is so up my alley. "In order to liberate women, we need to liberate men." (Anne Hathaway - UN Women Goodwill Ambassador). Check this out, I'm in awe. My friend Ronni Kahn is at it again, disrupting the food supply chain, offering food security to the vulnerable. I've shared before about OzHarvest. When I first met Ronni ten years ago I knew she was special, but what she has achieved and continues to achieve truly blows my mind. She cares so much about the people that OzHarvest serves, and every person in her life, and gives her everything to make sure that no person needs to go hungry. The international expansion of OzHarvest is awesome, and this "take what you need" supermarket in Sydney is just brilliance. Repurposing and rehoming surplus food, keeping it out of landfill so that we all benefit and business overheads are lowered. Win. Win. Win. Love it! ... See MoreSee Less
