The PwC Private Business Barometer found that for the second consecutive barometer, sourcing talent was the top issue facing employers, in light of predicted growth throughout the country.
However, PwC private clients partner Gregory Will noted that businesses seemed to be surprisingly lagging in their attempts to attract new talent.
“Despite indicators that competition for staff will grow, there was a decline in the number of businesses seeking to be more attractive employers of choice,” he said.
It seems to me the number one response to this challenge is to focus on strategies for finding and keeping the best women on their teams… after all women comprise the majority of educated talent emerging from Australian universities and could be just what business needs to change their fortunes.
