Sending a huge thank you to Virgin Australia, BPW Geelong, Network Central

OK so it’s not always smooth sailing in my world… which is why I need to say thank you to everyone who manages to keep me on track!  So I firstly need to thank Virgin Australia for coming to the rescue on Tuesday night when Ethan and I found ourselves stranded in Melbourne.  Long story short we’d been caught in transit to the airport and missed our flight… and when the other airline had us on a 4 hour wait for a 10pm arrival into Sydney on the “next available flight” (no fun for a 2 year old and even less fun for his mum!) I was hugely, hugely relieved and grateful that Virgin found us a spot, not just any spot but we found ourselves in their new Premium Economy seating.

This is Ethan enjoying his Premium seating – thanks again Virgin, you’ve won my heart!!

Thank you also to BPW Geelong for inviting me to speak at their Equal Pay Day lunch on Friday, and especially Terry for making all the arrangements and taking good care of me.

Finally, thank you to Kim at Network Central for inviting me to the fabulous breakfast last month with guest speaker Christine Nixon who spoke about her career journey and new book Fair Cop.  Not having much knowledge of Christine’s career, I was in awe with what she has achieved (and overcome, in the way of prejudice and discrimination).  I’m very much looking forward to attending the next Network Central breakfast with guest speaker Wendy Machin, President of NRMA who will share Five lessons from a country girl.

Would you like to join me at next week’s breakfast event with Wendy? It’s on Wednesday 21st September and you can receive the special GOLD MEMBER rate (25% off the booking price) by quoting SPHINXX when you book here.

Well. Can I just say 'hats off' to Margaret Court. I don't share her views on same sex marriage but I do think good on her for standing up and standing by her opinion. It's a good reminder that a bit more work is required to ensure all
Australians understand equality and so are willing to embrace it.
