MEDIA RELEASE: sphinxx gives $10,000 in scholarships for women business leaders in NFPs

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

sphinxx, the network for senior and aspiring female business leaders has launched a program to offer $10,000 to women working in the not for profit arena.   The sphinxx NFP Program will award 12 complimentary memberships to its leadership program for three women who work for an NGO, not for profit or community organisation in each of Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane.

The sponsorships are valued at $895 per person, amounting to $10,000 in total, to provide professional development advice, support and training for women working to improve the lives of less fortunate women and girls in Australia or overseas. Each scholarship entails subscription to Quarterly Ascend leadership development days;  Monthly Membership Packages and access to the Members-only section of the website.

sphinxx is a network of highly successful business women, with quarterly events – Ascend Development Days – in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane. These events offer inspiration, practical tips and support and an opportunity for networking, peer support and mentoring.

With only 11 per cent of senior executive roles in Australia held by women (source: EOWA Census of women in leadership 2008), Ascend events aims to take a fresh approach to attracting, developing and retaining women as business leaders.
Jen Dalitz, founder of sphinxx, says she hopes the sphinxx NFP Scholarships will help a few of these women to reach their career potential to benefit both their lives and also the success of their organisations.
“Women working in NGO organisations, either paid employees or volunteers, rarely have the resources to join mentoring and development programs or attend corporate events like the sphinxx Ascend program to help them with their careers”, says Dalitz.
“We hope that by offering the sphinxx NFP scholarships we are giving a bit back to the community as well as helping these very deserving and special women to realise their full potential and help them in their roles”.
Currently sponsored by Westpac’s Women’s Markets, the sphinxx “Ascend” development days for women in business are designed by women for women, with an all woman line up of speakers and trainers and focused towards women in management roles, leaders of people and organisations and women who are running their own successful enterprises.
