This is a guest post from Catherine Porter at Linen Lifestyle who writes “I was fortunate to be invited to attend theMacquarie Women Work and Management Conference last week. From the start to the finish, the conference was organized to exceed our expectations.”

Over two hundred women registered for the conference, the majority being from government and the corporate world. These women represent a wide range of executive and managerial positions in the business world of today and the future. They are articulate and professional and have a profound idea of what they want to achieve in their chosen careers.  Thirteen inspirational guest speakers formed the basis of a thoroughly professional and informative conference held at the Sofitel Wentworth Sydney which is quite a superb venue.

My top 3 takeaways from the conference?

• Professor Fiona Wood – there is no substitute for hard work. Set a goal, be real and play to your strengths.
• Captain Michelle Williams, RAN – lead by example, no matter the circumstances.
• Andrea Culligan – challenge everything and be open to ideas and concepts.
