Women on boards reach record high of 11.9 per cent of ASX200 appointments – new AICD research shows

As at the 16th May 2011, women hold 11.9% of all ASX200 seats on the Australian Stock Exchange, says the Australian Institute of Company Directors, however a total of 77 boards in the ASX200 still do not have any female directors.

According to AICD’s ongoing real-time research

  • Women have comprised 31% of new appointments to ASX 200 boards to date in 2011 (16 May 2011).
  • Women comprised 25% of all new appointments to ASX 200 boards in 2010, compared to only 5% in 2009 and 8% in 2007 and 2008.
  • 26 women have been appointed to ASX 200 boards in 2011 to date.
