In our sphinxx news alert a couple of weeks ago I asked you how we could help you… and we’ve been inundated with responses (I’m still working through the replies so please bear with me if you sent in a request – I’ll be in touch soon!)
In light of the response, we are commencing a “Can you help?” section into the sphinxx news alerts to support members of the sphinxx Leadership Program. To get the ball rolling this week we’re focusing on a member who’s looking for a work experience placement in a travel agency. Wendy has been studying a Certificate III in Tourism (Retail Travel Sales) and needs a three week work experience placement to put all the info she’s learnt in theory into practice (including computer reservation systems). At the end of it someone would come in from the college (Cengage) to do the assessment process (so you won’t have to worry about that chore). The dates we’re looking for are from the 12th September through to the 30th September or thereabouts.
Are you a travel agent or do you know a travel agent who may be willing to take on this placement?
If you can help, you’ll get free labour for 3 weeks from an experienced world traveller who also has outstanding customer service skills (Wendy has 20+ years experience as a registered nurse so not only is she a real people person but she’s also thoroughly accustomed to dealing with urgency and emergencies and could advise your clients on health and travel).

PS If you’re wondering why our member couldn’t find a placement of her own… it’s because there just isn’t enough capacity in Darwin where she lives, so she’s flying to Sydney at her own cost to do this placement. That’s commitment, I say.
