Why the bad boys of business need to be pulled into line

You may have been following the storm in the teacup that has been brewing as a result of litigation involving ANZ Bank, strip clubs and certain (allegedly) badly behaved traders who it turns out are paid more than their Bank’s CEO. In case you missed it, here’s a snippit. In response, ANZ, Westpac and Commonwealth […]

What men really want, and how they “have it all”

Are you following @manwhohasitall on twitter? I’ve concluded this satirical (and scarily familiar) account of “top tips for men juggling a successful career and fatherhood” could only be authored by a woman. The basis of my assumption? Career men wouldn’t think about spending time on social media sharing the ins and outs of their work […]

New book busts myths about women in business, and introducing (drumroll please!…….) our very first Friday freebie giveaway!

Wallowing this week in the colds and flu that descended on our little household, it’s been hard to stop thinking about Sheryl Sandberg and her family. The tragic and sudden death of Sheryl’s husband, Dave, last weekend, is unbelievable. I had the privilege and great joy to spend a morning with Sheryl at BlogHer a […]

Leadership In Action: Knowing when to quit, to change or to start afresh

Are you good at quitting? I’ve become a little obsessed with quitting this year. Because for far too long before that, I’d fallen into that trap of saying yes to everything. Yes, I could work that extra day. Yes, I could launch that new product line. Yes, I can take over that project that’s spiraling […]

The critical role of empathy in life, leadership, business and our community

For several reasons, I do my best to keep away from the news. Over the past week that’s been pretty difficult and no doubt you’ve experienced your own personal response to the MH17 disaster. We tend to hope these events are once in a lifetime; still that doesn’t make it any less distressing. My unhinging […]

Raw. Real. Remembering just some of the magical talent that departed our realm last year.

Music is such a gift, it lightens our load and brings such joy, and how lucky are we to experience all of these fantabulous artists in our lifetime??

Of course their memories will live on in their songs that I'll certainly continue to belt out ad infinitum (karaoke tribute night anyone?!)

Thanks Keith Urban for a moving musical tribute. Fair dinkum mate, it's a ripper...
